AI Voice Agent DevelopmentLive calls

Voice AI that survives
a real phone call

On a phone call there is nowhere to hide a thinking pause. We build voice agents with a latency budget for every turn, barge-in that actually interrupts, and a handoff to a person the moment the call needs one.

What we build

Voice agents, and the plumbing underneath them

Answering the line is the easy half. The work is in the telephony, the systems the agent has to read and write mid-call, and the rules for when it should stop talking and fetch a person.

  • Custom

    Custom Voice Agent Build

We start from your recordings and scripts rather than a template: what callers actually ask, where the current script falls apart, and which turns must never be automated. That decides the flow, the prompts and the guardrails.

    • Transcript and call-reason analysis
    • Conversation and prompt design
    • Barge-in and turn-taking rules
    • Confidence thresholds for escalation
    • Recording and consent prompts
  • Inbound

    Inbound Call Handling

Answer, work out who is calling, resolve what can be resolved, route the rest. Answers are grounded in your own knowledge base, so the agent says what your documentation says — and says it doesn't know when it doesn't.

    • Answer, greet, identify caller
    • Answers grounded in your content
    • Order and account lookups
    • Menu and queue replacement
    • Transfer with context attached
  • Outbound

    Outbound Calling

Reminders, confirmations, renewals and qualification calls placed on a schedule. Voicemail detection, retry rules, calling windows and do-not-call handling are part of the build, not something bolted on after launch.

    • Voicemail and machine detection
    • Retry rules and calling windows
    • Do-not-call and opt-out handling
    • Appointment and payment reminders
    • Qualification and survey scripts
  • Scheduling

    Appointment Scheduling by Phone

Book, move and cancel against your real calendar. The hard parts are time zones, double-booking when two callers want the same slot, and reading back what the caller actually said before anything is written.

    • Live availability lookup
    • Time zone and DST handling
    • Reschedule and cancel flows
    • Confirmation read-back
    • SMS or email follow-up
  • Integration

    Telephony and Systems Integration

Numbers, SIP trunks and routing on one side; CRM, ticketing and scheduling on the other. An agent that can't read a record mid-call and write one back at the end is a very expensive answering machine.

    • SIP trunking and number provisioning
    • Warm transfer and IVR handoff
    • CRM read and write during the call
    • Ticket and task creation
    • Custom APIs and webhooks
Under the hood

What decides whether a call feels natural

Turn-Taking That Doesn't Talk Over People

Endpointing has to tell a finished sentence from a pause for breath, and barge-in has to cut the agent off mid-word when the caller starts speaking. Both are tuned against your own recordings, because accents and noisy lines break the defaults.

Speech Recognition Tuned to Your Callers

Accents, hold music, spelled-out postcodes and reference numbers are where recognition fails first. We test against real call audio and add vocabulary for the names, products and codes your callers say out loud.

TunedOn your audio

Actions, Not Just Answers

The agent books the slot, updates the record, raises the ticket and sends the confirmation. Every action is idempotent and logged, so a dropped call doesn't leave half a booking behind.

AutoAction execution

Recording, Consent and Access

Consent is announced at the top of the call and stored with the recording. Audio and transcripts are encrypted in transit and at rest, access is role-based and logged, and retention windows are set per deployment. Regulatory scope is agreed per engagement.

LoggedConsent and access

Call Review You Can Act On

Transcripts, recordings, containment and transfer rates, and the turns where callers gave up. That is the loop that tells you which prompt to change next — rather than whether the agent sounds good.

What changes

What changes once the line is always answered

  • Calls answered outside office hours
  • No queue for routine requests
  • Peaks and overflow absorbed
  • The same answer on every call
  • Callers can interrupt and be understood
  • Bookings written to the real calendar
  • CRM updated during the call, not after
  • A transcript for every conversation
  • Escalation with context, not a cold transfer
  • Your people left with the hard calls
Why work with us

Why teams bring us in for voice on the phone

  • ExpertAI + Speech + NLP

Speech and Language, Not Just Prompts

Conversational AI, the behaviour of the speech models on both ends, and the ordinary backend work that has to sit under both. Voice projects rarely fail on the model — they fail in the seams between audio, logic and the systems of record.

    How we work

  • Load-testedBefore launch

Built to Survive a Busy Morning

Concurrency, retries, queueing and graceful degradation are designed in, so a spike turns into a queue and a callback rather than dead air on an answered line.

    How we work

  • Two-wayCRM and telephony

    Integrations That Write Back

Salesforce, HubSpot, SAP, Oracle or your own APIs — read the record while the caller is still on the line, write the outcome before the call ends, and reconcile cleanly when a call drops mid-write.

    How we work

  • One flowFirst release

    A Narrow First Release

One call reason, live, with its containment and transfer rates measured — then the next. Scoping an agent to every call reason at once is the reliable way to launch nothing.

    How we work

  • ContinuousImprovement

    Tuning After Launch

Voice agents drift as products, prices and callers change. We keep reviewing failed turns, mis-recognitions and transfers, and feed them back into prompts, vocabulary and confidence thresholds.

    How we work

How we build

From call logs to a line you can leave running

Six steps, and most of the risk sits in the first two. An agent that was never scoped against real call reasons will sound fine in a demo and fall apart on a Monday morning.

  1. Step 01

    Listen to the calls

We work through your recordings and call logs to find the reasons people actually ring, which of those are safely automatable, and which must reach a person on the first turn.

  2. Step 02

    Design the conversation

Flows, prompts, persona, what the agent says when it is unsure, and the exact wording of the recording and consent notice. Escalation paths get written before the happy path does.

  3. Step 03

    Build the voice loop

Recognition, model and synthesis wired into one turn loop with a latency budget for each hop, plus endpointing and barge-in tuned on your own audio rather than on demo clips.

  4. Step 04

    Wire it to your systems

Numbers, SIP trunks and transfer targets on the telephony side; CRM, calendar and ticketing on the other — with retries and reconciliation for calls that drop mid-action.

  5. Step 05

    Test it like a caller

Scripted and adversarial calls over real audio: accents, background noise, interruptions, silence, people who change their mind halfway. Containment and transfer rates are measured before anyone real is on the line.

  6. Step 06

    Launch narrow, then widen

Start on one call reason or a slice of traffic, read the transcripts daily, fix what the calls show, and only then hand the agent the next queue.

Where it gets used

Voice agents for lines that ring all day

  • Clinics and Telehealth

Booking and rescheduling, reminders that cut no-shows, prescription and results callbacks — with the regulatory controls your practice requires scoped before the first call goes out.

  • Banks and Lenders

Balance and transaction questions, card blocks, payment arrangements and fraud callbacks, with identity checks and hard stops before anything sensitive is read aloud.

  • Retail and Order Support

Where-is-my-order calls, returns and exchanges, delivery reschedules, and outbound calls on failed payments or held shipments.

  • Real Estate

Answer portal enquiries while the lead is still warm, book viewings against the agent's calendar, and chase feedback the day after.

  • Education & EdTech

Admissions and enrolment questions, fee reminders, timetable and results queries — and the seasonal spikes that come with all three.

  • Travel and Hotel Desks

Reservations, changes and cancellations, check-in questions, and the wave of disruption calls when a flight or a booking moves.

  • Taxi & Mobility

Phone bookings for riders who don't use the app, ETA and fare questions, lost property, and a driver support line that is answered.

  • Public Services and Utilities

Meter readings, billing and payment plans, outage and service reports, and information lines that flood the moment something goes wrong.

AI Voice Agent — FAQ

The questions that come up
before we start building

Cost, languages, integrations, and what happens when the agent gets it wrong. Ask us directly.

It depends on how many call reasons it covers, which systems it has to read and write during a call, and where it runs. One narrow flow — appointment booking, say — is a much smaller build than a whole support line with CRM writes, a custom voice and reporting. There is also a running cost per minute for speech recognition, the model and synthesis, which we estimate with you before anything is committed. We quote after a discovery call, not before one.
